Traditional Thai Massage
Thai massage is a full body, Eastern type of massage in Thai style that involves stretching and deep massage. The client is put into many yoga-like positions during the course of the massage. This form of bodywork is usually preformed on a futon type mat and the client wears loose comfortable clothes that allow for movement. No oils are used.
We do provide loose cotton robes for this massage. Optionally the client may wear their own clothes, as long as they are thin and loose; for example T-shirts, spandex and pajamas are preferred.
Reiki (Ray-Key) is a gentle form of massage and can be offered fully clothed. Reiki is an ancient Tibetan healing art for the improvement of body and mind. Reiki overcomes the stress caused by finances, relationships, career, illnesses, and promotes balance and harmony in one’s life. Clients experience deep relaxation and relief from physical and emotional pain.
General massage therapy involves acting on and manipulating the body with pressure – structured, unstructured, stationary, or moving – tension, motion, or vibration, done manually or with mechanical aids. Target tissues may include muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, joints, or other connective tissue. Massage can be applied with the hands, fingers, elbows, knees, forearm, and feet.
Massage involves the client being treated while lying on a massage table. The massage subject may be fully or partly unclothed. Parts of the body may be covered with towels or sheets. Various oils, gels, creams and aromas will be used to treat the skin and create a relaxing, sensual feeling with the massage. Music and warm towels are provided, but optional.

Swedish Massage (Relaxation)
Swedish massage uses five styles of long, flowing strokes to massage. The five basic strokes are effleurage (sliding or gliding), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (rhythmic tapping), friction (cross fiber) and vibration/shaking. Swedish massage has shown to be helpful in reducing pain, joint stiffness, and improving function in patients with osteoarthritis. It has also been shown to be helpful in individuals with poor circulation.
Deep tissue massage
Deep Tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity, such as athletes, and patients who have sustained physical injury. It is also not uncommon for receivers of Deep Tissue Massage to have their pain replaced with a new muscle ache for a day or two. Deep tissue work varies greatly. What one calls deep tissue another will call light. When receiving deep tissue work it is important to communicate what you are feeling.
Trigger point therapy
Sometimes confused with pressure point massage, this involves deactivating trigger points that may cause local pain or refer pain and other sensations, such as headaches, in other parts of the body. Manual pressure, vibration, or other treatment is applied to these points to relieve myofascial pain. These points relate to dysfunction in the myoneural junction, also called neuromuscular junction (NMJ), in muscle, and therefore this modality is different from reflexology, acupressure and pressure point massage
Integrated Positional Therapy
Integrated Positional Therapy is a very gentle, yet effective healing modality that's done while your fully clothed. It's been used to successfully treat many forms of chronic/acute neuromuscular pain; often working when other approaches have failed - including medications, general allopathic care (including surgery), and chiropractic.
And what's great! - the results are often immediate and permanet, bringing effective relief to a wide range of chronic/acute neuromuscular conditions that may have resulted from injury, stress, repetitive motions, or even postural misalignments you may have experienced recently, or acquired over time from poor postural practices.
You are fully clothed during your session except shoes so please wear loose comfortable clothes. (we have some pajama type clothes if need be) The session will consist of an assessment of postural and muscle imbalances. Then gentle body manipulations to loosen/slacken strained /stressed muscles. The session also implements some facilitated stretching. The session is about 60 minutes or so depending on the individual client needs.
Hot Stone Massage
A very very relaxing massage. I can tell you from experience this is really a treat. Each of our therapsits has their own style. Some place stones in specific places and others actually massage you with the hot stones. Either way the hot stones seem to loosen up and relieve muscle tension even more so than a regular massage .
